Zaki Rahman is a Barrister at Law from Lincoln’s Inn and a graduate from the University of Sussex.
During his career starting from 2001, his practice has been spread across a wide spectrum of areas including commercial law, company law, infrastructure projects, oil and gas, banking law, mergers and acquisitions, power projects, constitutional law, telecommunications law, media law, privatizations, real estate, sports law, public-private partnerships, and labour law. In addition to his transactional practice and litigating in courts, he has appeared as legal counsel as well as expert legal witness in international commercial arbitrations. He was engaged as an expert legal witness by the Government in the ICSID Reko Diq arbitration in London involving a multi-billion dollar claim against the Government by a foreign investor. High-profile clients include X (formerly Twitter), the Pakistan Cricket Board, Newsweek, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, and Shell International Limited.
Since 2009, he has been a Pakistan contributor on corporate and contractual law issues for the annual “Doing Business” report of the World Bank. He has also been involved in the drafting of laws relating to public-private partnerships and data privacy. Zaki serves on the boards of not-for-profit entities involved in education and other humanitarian causes.
